17th Girls' Brigade Company

The 17th Girls’ Brigade Company, which was also based at the Shuqun Secondary School and sponsored by Jurong Christian Church, had a thanksgiving programme in church this afternoon. The Shuqun Secondary School has decided to discontinue the CCA, due to various reasons. The thanksgiving was an opportunity for the officers and girls, both past and present, to reflect upon God’s goodness to them all these years. A group of us from the BB joined them – Captain, MDM, mdm, Yifeng, Joshua, Meng Huat, Ming Huan, Jun Rong and me.

After that, the group proceeded to the Lotus Garden Restaurant for dinner. Ting Cheng, Chee Kiong and Agnes and their 2 kids, and Jim joined us too. The girls and ladies were busy taking pictures through the night, in between eating the food. Here’s a picture we took together as the BB Group.

Finally

I finally met Wei Hong for lunch yesterday. We went to Jade Crystal Restaurant in Jurong Point, and had noodles plus some side dishes, and desert. I caught up with what he is doing now - working in Republic Poly and studying part time in SIM. We had about an hour together, as I had to rush off to meet Dennis to go to Tampines for the Adventure Quest Prize Giving Ceremony. Wei Hong went off to the library to study for his exams. We agreed to meet again when his exams are over. This time we'll have a good leisurely dinner at Kushin-bo.

No pictuers to show. I had my camera with me, but didn't take any. Next time I meet Wei Hong I will.

Chow Kai

Sek Hoong, Yew Moi, Sook Hwee, Jim and Michelle, and me met up with Chow Kai for dinner last Thursday evening at Jurong Point. We went to one of the restaurants inside the new Kopitiam Feast. Chee Kiong joined us too. The food was ok, but the fellowship was great.

Chow Kai joined the BB when he was in Sec 1, and continued until officer rank. I remember the first day he came to the BB, the group of them sat down at a table in the former void deck in Jurong Christian Church. I talked to introduce the BB to them. While the rest just looked and listened, Chow Kai whipped out his notebook and pen, and started writing down what I said.

Chow Kai left for his studies in Australia, came back and got married to Faith (our pastor Reverend William Chang's and Laura's daughter), then both of them worked in Australia until now. Chow Kai looked the same. He speaks with an Australian accent now, which was not so obvious when he spoke Chinese. He left for Australia last, but Faith will be here for another week. We saw Faith in church this morning.

Chow Kai is the one in shorts, and Chee Kiong is in red, in the following picture.

Here are the rest of the pictures we took.
