High Tea With 2 Old Boys

MDM, mdm, former captain Jim and I met up with 2 old Boys for high tea this afternoon. MDM reminded me that Wai Kong and Sung Pong were both staff sergeants.

Wai Kong graduated from the BB around 1987. He studied in SAJC, and is now the CFO of a listed company. He came with his daughter Charmaine (hope I got the spelling correct). Charmaine, 7, is a lively and friendly girl. We haven't seen Wai Kong for about 20 years, and he hasn't changed a bit.

Sung Pong went to JJC, and signed up with the army. He will be relocating to work in Macau next month. He came with his wife, son Sung Kai, and mother-in-law. Sung Kai is only 6 weeks only, and is very cute. Well, I did try to indoctrinate him with the virtues of joining the BB, but not sure if he heard me.

It was really good to meet up with them again.

Singapore Garden Festival 2008

I was at the Singapore Garden Festival 2008 opening yesterday morning. After that, walked around the exhibition halls and took some pictures. I must say they are very nice, especially those on the 6th level of Suntec Convention Centre. The lightings and air-cond made the ambience of the whole place very cozy and nice. Don't miss it.

Happy Birthday To Me

Gary was the first to sms from camp to wish me happy birthday last night. He said he will see us this Saturday.

Joel and Jun Chong also sms to wish me happy birthday. Both were squad leaders of Squad Corinthians before. Their sms came well after midnight.

Ming Huan and Yifeng also sms after midnight with their birthday greeting.

The big surprise was the sms from Zhi Qiang from the Pulse Ministry, wishing me a happy birthday.

Chet sms to wish me early this morning too.

Dennis, his mother, Raymond, Michelle and Jim all sent sms birthday greetings. Michelle and I share the same birthday. Aravin (from BB) also shares the same birthday as us.

Sek Hoong and Yew Moi, and Samuel and Daniel sent me electronic birthday cards. The one from Samuel and Daniel came with a very cute happy birthday song.



The officers and Boys celebrated my birthday after the youth worship before the cell time. Here are the pictures.






As usual, Dennis' family gave me a birthday present. This year, it's 2 polo tshirts. They are always so thoughtful.

The officers bought me a bag, ahead of my birthday next Sunday. They said I needed a new one, since my tattered bag is an embarassment. The new bag is nice - lots of compartments, specially designed for carrying laptops. Thank you, everyone. My old bag went down the rubbish chute this afternoon.
