Better Already

The Boys had their rapelling activity today at the BB-GB Campsite in Sembawang. I was taking pictures for them, and snapped pictures of my left hand and right knee. They are healing nicely. Thanks to all who prayed for me.

Bad Fall.

I remembered Ricky's blog, in which he gloried in the bruises and wounds he sustained from a fall while cycling in East Coast Park. Go here to read about it and see the gory pictures.

I decided to blog about my bad fall this morning.

It was very windy last night. I guess that was how the little branch got in my way this morning, and I tripped over it. I walked out the gate and turned right. It happened so fast. I suddenly realised I was falling. Before I knew what happened, I found myself face down on the ground. My first reaction was "Oh no!". I quickly got up, and checked myself, to make sure my face was ok, my glasses were not broken, and my teeth had not fallen off.

Everything seemed fine. Then I looked at my left palm, and saw the bad bruise there. It was bleeding. And I felt a pain in my right knee. I knew I had knocked it against the ground. Sure that I was still in one piece, I continued walking to the station and got to the office.

I was ok on the whole, just the usual stinging pain from scratched skin. And the throb in my right knee. When you see the picture of my right knee, you will marvel that my pants were not torn.

After breakfast, 2 of my colleagues managed to find 2 band aids for me. The office first aid box was practically empty. I sms-ed another colleague to ask her to buy dettol, cotton wool and band aids for me.

The bruise on my left hand continued to bleed even with the band aid. My lunch partner advised me to remove the band aid and let the blood dry faster. It worked.

Looking back (in the train I reflected), I realised that God had protected me. It's like He caught hold of me and made sure I didn't hit my face on the ground. Oh, did I mention that I got a small cut on my lip? Imagine that - a cut on my lip but no other injuries to my face. Logically speaking, the ground would have hit my nose first, then my glasses before it hit my lips. God's grace - praise Him. Please pray for quick healing - at least no pain tomorrow.

Ok, here's the part you've been waiting for - the gory pictures.

My left palm...

...and my right knee.

So Ricky, whose is more gory - yours or mine?
